Location and History
The apartment is located in the historic building of Browar Lubicz. It was erected in 1840 as the private residence of the Jenny family. In 1903, it changed the owner and the name to Browar Krakowski and Fabryka Przetworów Słodowych J. Gotz.
It prospered wonderfully and was constantly improved, passing into the hands of the owner’s son. The brewery operated until World War II, after which it was nationalized. Initially, it was managed by the Fermentation Industry Board in Zabrze, and in 1968, it was taken over by Okocim.
In the 1980s, the brewery produced Krak Pils beer, with only one brand produced – Jasne Mocne. Okocim was later taken over by Carlsberg, marking the end of beer production at Browar Lubicz. However, it remains a recognizable object in Krakow.
In 2014, the construction of stage I of the Browar Lubicz estate was completed. Balmoral Properties restored the historic buildings of the Goetz Palace, Beer Bar, Gatehouse, the former Malt Drying House, the former Malt House, as well as the Engine Room and Boiler Room with a chimney. The characteristic elevations of the buildings refer to industrial buildings built in the 19th century.
